This chapter covers sugar itself and sugar confectionery that contains no cocoa. Cane and beet sugar and chemically pure sucrose in solid form, other sugars such as lactose, maltose, glucose and fructose, sugar syrups without added flavouring or colouring, artificial honey, caramel, molasses and cocoa-free confectionery including white chocolate all belong here. The notes draw the line between "raw sugar" (under 99.5% sucrose by polarimetric reading) and "white sugar" (99.5% or more), and set fructose thresholds for isoglucose and inulin syrup. Sugar mixed with small quantities of other substances stays in this chapter unless the mixture takes on the character of a preparation classified elsewhere.

% 69 veya daha fazla fakat %93'ten az olan santrüfüj işlemi yapılmadan elde edilmiş kamış şekerini kapsar
Ürün sadece melas artıkları ve kamış şekerinin diğer bileşenler tarafından kaplanmış çıplak gözle görülemeyen
düzensiz şekilde doğal anhedral mikrokristaller içerir.

3. 1702.30.10.00, 1702.40.10.00, 1702.60.10.00 ve 1702.90.30.00 alt pozisyonları anlamında, kuru halde
ağırlık itibariyle en az % 10 fruktoz ihtiva eden glikoz veya polimerlerinden elde edilen ürün " izoglikoz "
kabul edilecektir.
4. " İnülin şurubu" tabirinden:
a) 1702.60.80.00 alt pozisyonu kapsamında, inülin veya oligofruktozun hidrolizi ile elde edilen, serbest
şekilde veya sakkaroz olarak, kuru halde%50'den fazla fruktoz içeren;
b) 1702.90.80.00 alt pozisyonu kapsamında, inülin ve oligofruktozun hidrolizi ile elde edilen, serbest
şekilde veya sakkaroz olarak, kuru halde en az %10, fakat en fazla % 50 fruktoz içeren;
hazır ürün anlaşılır.
‘Serbest şekilde veya sakkaroz olarak fruktoz’ miktarı, kuru madde üzerinden hesaplanan, Yüksek Performanslı Sıvı
Kromatografisi (High Performance Liquid Chromatography – HPLC) metodunda belirlendiği üzere, “F” harfinin
früktoz, “S” harfinin sakkaroz içeriğini gösterdiği F + 0,5 S/0,95 formülü kullanılarak belirlenir.
5. Tarife cetvelinde şekerle az miktarda başka maddelerin karışımları, bu karışım başka bir yerde
sınıflandırılan bir müstahzarın karakterine sahip olmadıkça 17. Fasılda sınıflandırılır.
